Guest Speaker:
NANCY PYPER, Past President of the May Court Club of Ottawa
Details
On the eve of May Day 1898, Lady Aberdeen summoned together the daughters of Ottawa’s “finest families” and challenged these young women to make it their mission to help others – to carry their talents and concern forth into the world under the banner of service. Thus was the birth the May Court Club, an organization of women that has answered Lady Aberdeen’s call admirably for over a century -- helping the sick and needy -- fighting TB -- bringing joy to the disabled.
Come hear about the remarkable legacy of Ottawa’s May Court Club.
All are welcome to attend without charge.
Light refreshments will be served in the auditorium lobby starting at 6:30pm, with the talk to follow at 7:00pm.
