Like the Irish Catholics, with the Knights of Columbus, and the English Protestants, with their Masonic Lodges and the Orange Order,  French Canada had its own secret society: the Ordre de Jacques-Cartier.

Commonly called "La Patente", the Order was established in 1926 in east Ottawa and would become, for five decades, the sword and shield of all French Canada.

Admission is free. All are welcome to attend.
